ASM Drift Team*
Adam Sheferdidn’t grow up around motorsports, but that didn’t mean he had no appreciation
for a finely tuned car and it was this very passion that soon found him
strapped into his Nissan 200SX initiating more than his car, but his competitive
spirit too.It has been almost 2 years
now since Adam first clutch-kicked his way onto the drift scene and he has made
tremendous progress in a relatively short space of time.He is currently ranked as one of SA’s top drifters,
recognition he received from the various competitions held to date. Adam is a regular drifter at The Rock Raceway
and participates in most club events as well as the National SADC Slide Master events,
which earned him a respectable 3rd place in 2009. The coastal towns like Port Elizabeth and East
London have also been privi to watch Adam as he competes in the NDS Drift
series events held throughout the year, in July last year Adam took 1st
place for Round 2 held at the Midvaal Raceway in Meyerton.

Drift car from the ground up.
So the last few weeks has been challenging for me and my crew, had some hectic competition up in Kimberley at the NDS Drift Series. Made the top eight, so smiles all round!
The past week-end I set off to the Rock on Friday to practice for the upcoming Carnival City Drift Nationals and lost a gear box :( Not ideal, but i burnt the midnight oil and managed to make it for scrutineering the following day. So far so good, I was in the zone, my mind was there, I was feeling great until a last minute practice cost me my clutch!!!! Unlucky?, maybe... Spot on timing?, perhaps... I have been battling with my angle lately and feeling that the car could use some more ponies... So this might infact be a blessing, at least now I get to go back to the drawing board and while I am busy mending, I might as well "tweak" a few things here and there.
Shall keep you posted, but imagine I won't be active until the beginning of June!
